This 18 year old aircraft joined US Bangla Airlines (youngest among Bangladesh's private operators) in October 2016. Following the tragic accident in Kathmandu on 12th March 2018 of US Bangla Dash-8-Q400 (S2-AGU), resulting in 50+ fatalities, the shoddy safety and operating procedures among that country's private operators and a total lack of oversight by Bangladesh civil aviation regulatory body came to surface. Background shows aircraft from a number of previously failed Bangladeshi airlines.
