Burghley House, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom

When all but the shell is gone: many 'masters' of this 16th century stately English house apparently built their wealth not by hard work but by marrying it. This could very well explain the ridiculous pomposity of today's English - Basil Faulty to Boris Johnson and many clowns in between!
